Accompanied with dhol beats and dance by party workers raising victory slogans while holding flags bearing the images of Lord Ram and Prime Minister Minister Narendra Modi, Bansuri Swaraj, the BJP candidate from New Delhi constituency, filed her nomination for the Lok Sabha polls on Tuesday. The election to the seat is scheduled in the city on May 25.
Swaraj, daughter of former Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart, late Sushma Swaraj, was accompanied by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and party’s Delhi state president Virendra Sachdeva to the office of the district magistrate-cum-returning officer where she filed her nomination.
“This is a national election and the BJP is filled with self-confidence. PM Modi has done a lot of work in the last 10 years. We are going to the public without a report card… but, if we talk about Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal does politics of hatred… He did not let the Ayushman Bharat scheme be implemented in Delhi…,” said Swaraj.
She said if the people elect her, she will ensure that the Ayushman Bharat scheme is implemented in Delhi.
According to her affidavit, Swaraj’s highest educational qualification is Master of Studies from Oxford University, UK. No criminal case has been registered against her. As per the Chief Electoral Office (CEO), Delhi, 15 nominations were filed on Tuesday, making the total nominations filed so far 30.
