A person and his eight-year-old son died in an accident near Amanikere in Channarayapatna taluk on Sunday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Rakesh, 28, a resident of Shravaneri village in Channarayapatna taluk, and his son Mokshith. Rakesh’s wife Asha suffered injuries.

Mokshith was with his grandparents at Hirehalla on Sunday. Rakshith and his wife had been to Hirehalla to take their son back to Shravaneri. On the way back to Shravaneri, the car they were travelling in collided with another car from the opposite direction near Ammanakatte. All three injured were shifted to the government hospital in Channarayapatna. The doctors declared Rakesh and Mokshith brought dead. Asha is undergoing treatment.

Channarayapatna Traffic Police have registered the case.
