“The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Rawat, aged 35 to 40 years. We have launched an investigation into the matter,” the officer said. “Initial probe suggested that his wife and children are staying in Dehradun. He was staying on the first floor and went to the fourth floor and jumped.”

The incident took place at 6 am on Friday, as per reports. Rawat is survived by his wife and two kids living in Dehradun. His mother was at home when he died.

“The ministry stands with the family in this hour of grief and difficulty. Further details are not being released bearing in mind the need to respect the family’s privacy in this time of bereavement,” it added.
