‘Iruttukkadai Halwa’ family alleges dowry harassment, appeals to CM Stalin for daughter’s safety


The famous ‘Iruttukkadai Halwa’ family from Tirunelveli town has submitted a complaint to Tirunelveli City Commissioner of Police Santosh Hadimani, alleging that their daughter Kanishka was being harassed over dowry by her husband and in-laws.

In their complaint, Kanishka, who got married to Balram Singh of Coimbatore on February 2, and her mother Kavitha stated that her husband and in-laws had been harassing her, demanding additional dowry, despite the family having already given “a lot of jewels and cash” at the time of the wedding.

The family requested Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s assistance in ensuring Kanishka’s safety, according to the complaint.
