A 25-year-old man died after he was allegedly stabbed thirty-six times with a broken beer bottle by his 17-year-old wife and her lover’s two friends in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur city.
The victim has been identified as Golden Pandey, also known as Rahul. Meanwhile, the four accused, including the teen wife, her lover, and his two friends – one of whom is also a minor – have been arrested.
The exact date of the murder is not specified, however, Rahul’s body was discovered in a field on April 13 near ITI College on the Indore-Ichapur highway, as per NDTV report.
Speaking about the incident, Burhanpur Superintendent of Police Devendra Patidar said that the young couple had been married for just four months and the murder took place when they were returning home on a two-wheeler after an outing.
On the way home, the wife pretended to have dropped her slippers and asked her husband to stop the bike. When he did, he was ambushed by her lover’s two friends. They dragged and brutally stabbed him with a broken beer bottle, leading to his death.
“As Rahul brought the two-wheeler to a halt, he was accosted by the two friends of her lover, Yuvraj. The three accused dragged him and stabbed him 36 times with a broken beer bottle. Rahul died on the spot,” Patidar said.
After the murder, the wife allegedly made a video call to her lover, Yuvraj, to show him her husband’s lifeless body. The group then dumped the body in a nearby field and fled the scene.
The police are currently investigating the gruesome murder case involving two minors. More details are expected to come out as the investigation progresses.
