Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri are in the middle of an extensive promotional blitz for their upcoming film O Romeo, which is gearing up for a theatrical release soon. On Friday, the makers hosted a song launch event in Mumbai to unveil a new track from the film, Paan Ki Dukaan. What was meant to be a celebratory evening, however, took an unexpected turn.

Apart from members of the media, fans were also invited to attend the event. During the festivities, Shahid called a few fans onto the stage to dance with him. The situation quickly escalated when several fans rushed the stage at once, crowding and mobbing the actor. As the chaos unfolded, Shahid stepped off the stage for his own safety. He later returned once security regained control and the fans were asked to move back.

Incidents of celebrities being mobbed at public events have become increasingly common over the past few months. While several female actors have faced similar situations earlier, this time it was Shahid who found himself at the centre of an overwhelming fan frenzy.

Paan Ki Dukaan From O Romeo

The newly launched Paan Ki Dukaan is a lively, high-energy dance number featuring Shahid Kapoor alongside Disha Patani. The song marks their second collaboration after Aashiqon Ki Colony, which was also well received by audiences.

The track is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, penned by legendary lyricist Gulzar, and sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Rekha Bhardwaj. Choreography duties have been handled by Jani Master, adding to the song’s vibrant appeal.

O Romeo Release Date And Legal Trouble

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, O Romeo is scheduled to hit theatres on February 13, 2026. However, the film has landed in legal trouble ahead of its release. Hussain Ustara’s daughter, Sanober Shaikh, has filed a lawsuit in a Mumbai civil court against the makers, alleging that the film is an unauthorised biopic of her father and portrays him as a gangster.

The case is currently under consideration, and it remains to be seen whether the film will receive clearance from the court.

Despite the controversy, O Romeo remains one of the most anticipated films of the year, marking the fourth collaboration between Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj after Kaminey and Rangoon.
