Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday (April 14, 2026), held his last Cabinet meeting, ahead of his expected resignation.  Following the Cabinet meeting, which lasted 25 minutes, Mr Kumar headed towards his official residence 1, Anne Marg. Later, he is likely to go to Raj Bhawan, a few yards away, at 3.15 p.m. to tender his resignation from the post. The meeting which lasted for about two hours, mostly revolved around the formation of the next government in the State, said party sources. Mr. Kumar has started shifting his belongings, mostly furniture, from his official CM residence to 7, Circular Road residence where he is expected to shift after resigning from his post. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Nitish Kumar on Wednesday staked claim to form the next government in Bihar after being elected the leader of the NDA, paving the way for his oath-taking ceremony scheduled for 11:30 am on Thursday at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan.
