AITA announces five-member squad for 2025 Billie Jean King Cup

The All India Tennis Association (AITA) announced a five-member squad for the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Group I, on Saturday. Ankita Raina, Sahaja Yamalpalli, Shrivalli Bhamidipaty, Vaidehi Chaudhari, and Prarthana Thombare have been named in the squad, while Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi has been put in the reserve. Team India will be led by captain Vishal Uppal and coach Radhika Kanitkar. The tournament, scheduled for the week of April 7, will be held at Deccan Gymkhana, Pune. A coaching camp will commence on April 2. Vaishnavi Adkar and Rutuja Bhosale will also join the camp. Six teams, including Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, India, Korea Republic, New Zealand, and Thailand, will be part of the tournament. The top two nations will advance to the playoffs. An extra qualification spot will be on offer for one team from any of the three Group I events worldwide (Europe/Africa, Americas, or Asia/Oceania).
