Ram Charan’s Game Changer faces piracy breach as local TV channel airs it illegally; here’s how the producer reacted

Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, hit the big screens on Sankranti, January 10. While the movie has been struggling at the box office, it recently fell victim to another piracy breach. A local TV channel illegally broadcasted the movie, and screenshots of the telecast quickly surfaced online. Shortly after, producer Sreenivasa Kumar addressed the issue on his social media handle. The Game Changer producer wrote, “This is unacceptable. A film that was released just 4-5 days ago being telecasted on local cable channels & Buses raises serious concerns. Cinema is not just about the Hero, director or producers – it’s the result of 3-4 years of hard work, dedication and the dreams of thousands of people.” Sreenivasa Kumar expressed concern about the adverse effects of piracy on distributors and exhibitors. He mentioned that their livelihoods depend on the success of films and stated that such actions undermine their hard work and pose a significant threat to the future of the film industry. “It’s time for respected governments to step up and take …

Fitness App Leads To Massive Security Breach On French Nuclear Submarines

Paris, France: Officers and crew aboard a French nuclear submarine have accidentally blown their cover as well as their location and schedule by recording their runs and jogs on a fitness app. The nuclear submarine scheduled for Russian patrol has risked leaking crucial data such as location, position, and patrol schedule to Moscow. The mobile and smartwatch app in question is the Strava app, which allows its users to share their fitness activities and achievements online and monitor their progress worldwide. The app has a feature which includes publishing the data on a map with the accurate location where the user completed his/her/their exercise or achieved their fitness goal. The location where the faux pas happened was the Ile Longue submarine base in Brest Harbour in France’s Finistere. The base is reportedly home to four French nuclear submarines, each carrying 16 nuclear missiles, with an explosive intensity roughly a thousand times as powerful as the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. PowerSchool data breach leaks info of students and staff at schools across the US

Schools across the US and Canada are warning parents that a data breach may have leaked information for students and employees. The K-12 operations platform PowerSchool, which supports over 60 million students and has over 18,000 customers worldwide, suffered a breach that could’ve exposed names and addresses of students and educators and, in some cases, more sensitive information like Social Security numbers, medical information, and grades. As initially reported by Bleeping Computer, threat actors got into PowerSchool’s support platform using compromised credentials. PowerSchool told Bleeping Computer that only a “subset” of schools are affected but has not provided a count of affected school districts or people. Additionally, the outlet says that in a note provided to its customers, PowerSchool claimed it paid a ransom request and “…has received reasonable assurances from the threat actor that the data has been deleted and that no additional copies exist.” PowerSchool’s website and social media channels have no mention of the data breach or directions for people who may have been affected. In an email to The Verge, PowerSchool …

Breach alert, parental nod in digital privacy rulebook | Latest News India

The ministry of electronics and information technology on Friday evening released the draft Digital Personal Data Protection Rules for public consultation, setting the stage for operationalising India’s personal data protection regime more than 16 months after the act was notified in August 2023. Some of the key obligations the rules propose from a user’s perspective are requirements for a service provider to clearly and in detail specify what data is being ingested and an immediate alert in the event that their data is breached. (Representational image) These rules are the key to operationalising India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), which has been in the making since an expert group formed under the chairpersonship of former Chief Justice of the Delhi high court AP Shah in 2011, recommended India come out with a privacy law. In 2017, a nine-judge bench of the Supreme Court unanimously recognised the fundamental right to privacy as guaranteed under the Constitution. US treasury says Chinese hackers stole documents in major cyber breach | World News

Chinese state-sponsored hackers breached the US Treasury Department’s computer systems this month, stealing documents in what the department described as a “major incident,” Reuters reported. The breach occurred through a third-party cybersecurity provider, BeyondTrust, according to a letter sent to US lawmakers and shared with Reuters. Hackers managed to access an important security key used by BeyondTrust, allowing them to bypass protections on a cloud-based service used to provide technical support to the Treasury Department. With this access, the attackers could reach certain user workstations and obtain unclassified documents. BeyondTrust, based in Georgia, disclosed the issue on its website, stating that a “digital key had been compromised” in an incident affecting a small number of its clients. The company added that an investigation is ongoing but did not respond to further comments. The Treasury Department said it learned about the breach on 8 December, after being alerted by BeyondTrust. It is now working with the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to understand the full impact. CISA directed all questions to the …

Gulbadin Naib displayed dissent by bowing in a mock prayer and requesting a review, despite DRS not being available in the match. In addition to the fine, a demerit point has been added to the former Afghanistan captain’s disciplinary record, marking his first offence within a 24-month period. Gulbadin Naib admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee Andy Pycroft. As a result, there was no need for a formal hearing. Recapping …
