Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka to replace injured Brydon Carse for Sunrisers Hyderabad

2 min readApr 14, 2026 06:59 PM IST Sunrisers Hyderabad has replaced England international Brydon Carse with Sri Lankan pacer bowler Dilshan Madushanka for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2026 season. Carse suffered an injury ahead of SRH’s tournament opener against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. “He got hit on the hand in the nets when he was batting, on his bowling hand. It was cleared of any break, but there was quite a lot of swelling, and he tried to push for the game, but it was difficult for him to hold the ball. He has been improving, so we are hoping he is available for selection for Kolkata,” Head coach Daniel Vettori said after the match against Bengaluru on Carse’s injury. “Dilshan Madushanka, a left-arm medium pacer, has represented Sri Lanka in 1 Test, 28 ODIs and 19 T20Is and has 70 wickets in international cricket against his name. He will join SRH for INR 75 Lakh. The Sri Lankan bowler was previously a part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the …

Ideal playing XI for Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru in season opener

2 min readMar 27, 2026 05:19 PM IST RCB vs SRH IPL 2026: After the lows of 2025, SunRisers Hyderabad will aim to start the Indian Premier League 2026 season on a high when they take on defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. With a belligerent group in their arsenal, SRH will continue to threaten most opposition attacks in the tournament in another season. While the indifferent form of key personnel backfired last season, the Sunrisers will enter the edition on the back of the belligerent form of their stand-in captain, Ishan Kishan, and the opening salvo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head for company. With the might of Heinrich Klaasen and Liam Livingstone in the middle-order, SRH have all the ingredients to light up the season opener against RCB. Aakash Chopra flags SRH’s bowling weakness ahead of IPL 2026

Aakash Chopra flags SRH’s bowling weakness ahead of IPL 2026

3 min readMar 22, 2026 01:33 PM IST Heading into the 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) bowling unit looks one of the weakest among all 10 teams. With skipper and leader of the pace attack, Pat Cummins, already set to miss the initial phase of IPL 2026 due to workload management by Cricket Australia, and the franchise having let go of Mohammed Shami ahead of the mini-auction, SRH’s bowling attack appears inexperienced and toothless. The availability of Sri Lankan pacer Eshan Malinga is also in doubt after Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) made it mandatory for him to clear a fitness test before issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC). While the likes of Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Liam Livingstone, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Aniket Verma and Salil Arora make the Hyderabad-based franchise one of the most explosive batting units in the IPL this season, their bowling is where the weakness lies. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra pointed out that if SRH manage to score 250, their bowling …

‘He was carrying thousands of dollars in cash in his pocket that fell out and blew across at riverside cafe’

The English cricketers just can’t seem to catch a break, and now a funny incident from a Perth cafe was revealed by cricket writer Cameron Ponsonby reported in his latest post for Cricket Et Al, as per Fox Cricket. Saying the current mini-series break on a beach at Noosa after England went down 0-2 to the Aussies will be a “paparazzi’s dream”, Ponsonby recalled an unfortunate incident at a riverside cafe in Perth where the first Test was played, involving Brydon Carse, Harry Brook and Zak Crawley. Fox quoted the writer as recounting that the trio went for brunch and Carse “had thousands of dollars in cash in his pocket that fell out and blew across the local area.” He continued: “A scene from a cartoon, it took a community effort of mums, children and flat white drinkers to gather the notes and return them to the table of wealthy cricketers. They were polite, embarrassed, but the bad thing had happened anyway. The tour is going much the same way.” After Brendon McCullum said the …

ICC Champions Trophy: Australia find an Inglis hero in record chase against England | Cricket News

It has not been a lengthy international career till date but there was a graphic on broadcast towards the end of his match-winning innings that showed Josh Inglis scores nearly two-thirds of his ODI runs in the region between point and midwicket. So it was fitting that he went from 86 to 104 with three sixes in that segment of the Gaddafi Stadium. When Brydon Carse changed his pace and hit a hard length, the ball sat up for Inglis to smash one over square leg. The very next ball, out came the scoop to a length ball on off-stump, flinging it over third man for a maximum. And in the next over, another change of pace delivery, this from Jofra Archer, Inglis pulled in front of square for a massive six to reach his century. The England-born Inglis’ unbeaten 120* off 86 balls led Australia to a stunning five-wicket win against England in Lahore on Saturday, chasing down 352 with 15 balls to spare. England had their chance though. Last ball of the 38th …

With 13 sixes and 7 fours Abhishek Sharma’s assault stuns England | Cricket News

The ten thousands that turned up at the Wankhede braving the Sunday traffic were treated to one of the most glorious hundreds in T20Is. The rampaging Abhishek Sharma produced an epic knock, rather a blur of sixes and fours, to fill their hearts. They could have well filed out of the stadium after his masterpiece ended, because there was nothing left to be watched, as his 54-ball 135 set the platform for India to pillage 247 for 9. England, battered and bruised by Abhishek’s onslaught, were shot out for 97 runs in 10.3 overs. But the crowd waited to catch a glimpse of Abhishek again. A hero was born this night and they would treasure him till he collected the awards at the presentation ceremony. He waved them all as he trudged back to the pavilion. An hour ago, the crowd had witnessed a T20 hundred of unreal quality, in what is best described as a celebration of stroke-making. When the milestone moment arrived, a tap down for a single off the 37th ball he …

Who is Brydon Carse, England’s three-in-one destroyer at Hagley Oval | Cricket News

Slippery pace, short-ball roughhouse, front-pad predator, Brydon Carse demonstrated his worth at the Hagley Oval, fishing a 10-wicket match haul that breathed fire and drew praise from his teammates. Captain Ben Stokes called him “lion-hearted” and “three bowlers in one”. Harry Brook said he felt “an event happening when he’s on. It feels like he’s going to get a wicket every ball.” The 29-year-old — whose father Jason had represented Rhodesia and later Northamptonshire — was born in Gqeberha, his attachment to the city of birth revealed through one of the several tattoos on his body. Eight years ago, he moved to England, where he signed a developmental contract with Durham. In two years, he became a first-team regular and developed a close bond with his county captain Stokes. But a recurrent knee injury stalled his progress, just after he had broken into the white-ball set-up in 2021. 💬 A “relatively modest” domestic record but it’s Brydon Carse’s attributes that “make him so important.” Steve Finn breaks down what makes the Durham fast bowler an …
