Day after boycott, Durbar Rajshahi players back in training after BPL franchise promises to pay fees | Cricket News

Bangladesh Premier League franchise Durbar Rajshahi has promised to pay their players after they have boycotted the training. BPL franchises need to play half of the amount before the tournament starts, 25 percent during the tournament, and 25 percent after the tournament. However, Rajshahi two weeks into the competition has not paid their local players yet which has caused the rift. After the boycott BCB chief Faruque held a meeting with his board of directors and Rajshahi owner Shafique Rahman and captain Anamul Haque. “There’s no doubt that they will receive payment on January 16,” Abu Jayed said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. “We express regret at not being able to make the payments on time. There’s no denying the fact. This shouldn’t have happened. The management has decided to pay 25% payment in cash. We will pay another 25% in checks,” “Our owner spoke to the BCB president on the phone. I met him in person. We had a cordial conversation. He wanted to understand the situation. We expressed our regret for the payment delay. …

The Australian cricketer is replaced by England’s Charlie Dean. “Dean represents England in international cricket and has played 36 T20Is, in addition to 3 Tests and 39 ODIs. The England all-rounder will join RCB for INR 30 Lakh,” quoted an RCB press release. “The left-arm spin bowling all-rounder was an integral part of RCB-W’s squad in WPL 2024, accounting for 12 wickets in 10 games at an economy rate of just 7.31 – including a memorable three-wicket over in the final that stole the game away from the Delhi Capitals,” it further added. Earlier in 2024 RCB announced a significant new addition to their WPL roster as they signed Danni Wyatt-Hodge in a cash trade from UP Warriorz. The explosive opener, who is also a brilliant fielder, is on brink of 3000 T20I runs (2979) and has a healthy career strike rate of 127.85, going even higher in recent years. Kevin Pietersen says he’s ‘available’ to take over as India’s batting coach | Cricket News

Kevin Pietersen says he’s ‘available’ to take over as India’s batting coach | Cricket News

The Indian batting order in the red-ball format collapsed time and again in recent series. The poor batting shows meant that for the first time in the history of Test cricket India got white-washed at home 3-0 against New Zealand. Though the side won the first Test Down Under against Australia the spineless batting performances cost the team the next three of the four Tests ending up losing the series 3-1. While there have been obvious questions raised at the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli there were also questions on some of the coaching staff and their role. However, amidst social media reports that India is looking for a batting coach, Kevin Pietersen threw his name into the hat in response to such tweets on social media by commenting “Available” Pietersen has been one of the most successful batters of the modern era for England. In 104 Tests he scored 8181 runs at an average of 47.29, in 136 ODIs he scored 4440 runs at an average of 40.73 and in 37 T20Is …

Harbhajan questions non-selection of Karun Nair: ‘those who are playing and scoring runs…ignoring them?’ | Cricket News

Karun Nair is having a dream run in the Indian domestic cricket. The 33-year-old has been churning runs across all formats irrespective of the conditions. His run-scoring has coincided with Indian batting struggling in recent Test match series both against Australia and New Zealand at home. As a result of the poor form of both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma former players and pundits have urged the duo to play domestic cricket time and again. However, Harbhajan Singh on his YouTube channel said,” “Many are selected on the basis of just two games, some are just selected basis the IPL. So, why are rules different for him? People say Rohit and Virat are out of form, and you’re sending them to Ranji. But those who are playing Ranji and scoring runs… why are you ignoring them? When will these guys play? They are scoring runs here,” “I’m looking at his stats. In 2024/25, he played six innings, remained not out in 5, scoring 664 and that was his average. And he’s played at a strike …
