Mr. Srinivasa Rao on Sunday (May 24) inspected the Annaprasadam distribution process and personally served Annaprasadam to the devotees. Interacting with several devotees who were receiving the food, he sought their feedback about the service, taste, and quality of the Annaprasadam. While speaking with the officials, he directed that the Siva Sevakulu be provided with proper orientation regarding food service protocols and other relevant matters. “Those who are serving the devotees should interact with the devotees with courtesy and respect,” he stressed. Mr. Srinivasa Rao instructed officials to constantly monitor the distribution process in every dining hall to ensure that the distribution is done smoothly. “Ensure to serve every dish prepared reaches every devotee. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday conducted searches at nine places across West Bengal in connection with its ongoing money laundering probe in the Public Distribution System (PDS) scam case, officials said. ED’s Kolkata zonal office is conducting the searches based on its investigation initiated in this case, (HT File) The raids have been underway since early morning under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) at the premises linked to suppliers and exporters located in Kolkata, Burdwan, and Habra, linked to Nirajan Chandra Saha and Ors in the case. ED’s Kolkata zonal office is conducting the searches based on its investigation initiated in this case, primarily based on West Bengal Police First Information Report (FIR) dated October 23, 2020, registered at Basirhat Police Station on the complaint of Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Ghojadanga LCS, alleging large-scale diversion of PDS wheat meant for welfare schemes. Individuals who regularly cook and distribute food to the poor and needy in Hyderabad are worried that a potential shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders could disrupt their efforts. Azhar Maqsusi, a city-based activist who distributes food to around 400-500 people daily, said he was unsure if he would have a cylinder on Wednesday morning. Every day, cooking begins at 8.30 a.m. under the Dabeerpura flyover and requires one commercial cylinder. Through the Sani Welfare Foundation, Maqsusi and his team have been distributing food near Gandhi Hospital in Musheerabad, Dabeerpura and Barkatpura for over a decade, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. The protesters blocked the road with empty LPG cylinders following which traffic was hit for over 30 minutes. The police held talks with them to discontinue their protests. Power distribution companies ready to efficiently handle 19000 MW demand, says Bhatti

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday asserted that the power distribution companies were ready to efficiently handle 19000 MW demand this summer and directed officials and staff to remain alert till the end of Yasangi and summer. At a review meeting with officials in the Assembly here, Mr. Bhatti noted that with the Yasangi crop season and the impact of summer, electricity demand and consumption in the State are increasing significantly. He said power network is fully prepared to efficiently handle a demand of up to 19,000 MW. He noted that the highest power demand recorded on March 20 last year was 17,162 MW. This year, the demand reached 17,606 MW on March 2. Subsequently, with a steady rise in demand, it touched 18,228 MW on March 13, setting a new record with power consumption of 341.08 million units.
