Record April heat scorches Rajasthan; Jaisalmer touches 46.4 degC amid severe heatwave

Jaisalmer in Rajasthan has recorded an unprecedented spike in temperatures, setting a new April record at 46.4 degrees Celsius. This surpasses the previous high of 46.3 degrees registered on April 18, 2025, marking one of the most intense heat episodes in recent years.  Over the past 24 hours, maximum temperatures across all major cities in the state exceeded 40 degrees.
