A layer of fog engulfed most parts of the valley, especially areas around water bodies. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday (November 29) night, down from minus 3.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature last night was slightly above the season’s coldest night recorded in the city when mercury had plunged to minus 4.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday night. The Shopian town in south Kashmir was the coldest place in the valley on Saturday night with a minimum temperature of minus 6.6 degrees Celsius. File | Photo Credit: Nissar Ahmad Kashmir is experiencing its coldest November since 2007, with minimum temperatures dipping below the freezing point across several locations, officials said on Friday (November 28, 2025). Srinagar recorded its coldest night of the season on Thursday (November 27, 2025) with the minimum temperature settling at -4.5°C, down from -4.4°C, the previous night, officials said. The city has witnessed a continuous drop in the night temperatures over the last few days. The night temperature in Srinagar was more than four degrees below the normal for the season, they said. According to officials, several weather stations across the valley recorded their lowest night temperatures in November since 2007. Srinagar had recorded a minimum temperature of -4.8°C on November 28, 2007, while the all-time low November temperature in the city was -7.8°C, recorded in 1934. Officials said Konibal, in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, was the coldest recorded place in the valley last night, recording a minimum temperature of -6°C. The mercury …
