3 min readNew DelhiMay 27, 2026 08:04 AM IST AI chatbots are everywhere, but which one is the most reliable? That is a question likely on the minds of millions of users. US-based digital marketing agency Legal Guardian Digital has released a new study ranking the most reliable chatbot for everyday work tasks. The findings reveal that Perplexity outperformed its more widely used peers such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Claude. The study arrives at a time when AI assistants are increasingly being used in workspaces. The report claims that one in four American workers use AI tools regularly. Based on the study, Perplexity AI reported the lowest hallucination rate among major chatbots at 13 per cent which is significantly lower than the industry average of 22 per cent. Want to take your Perplexity AI prompts to the next level? Try these 5 tips and tricks | Technology News

AI-powered search tools like Perplexity or AI Mode in Google Search have been on the rise since the technology has led to a significant shift in user behaviour in terms of how they are looking up information online. Using AI chatbots, AI-powered search tools, and agentic AI web browsers, users can now get all sorts of responses back on almost any topic imaginable. While most of these products have been designed to make it easy for users to type in anything they like and get it to understand them, there are unique ways of getting more interesting and useful results out of Perplexity AI. This practice is commonly referred to as ‘prompt engineering’ and has become a skill of its own. Earlier this year, Perplexity briefly beat OpenAI’s ChatGPT to become the number one free app on Apple’s App Store in India following Bharti Airtel’s announcement that it is giving away a free one-year Perplexity Pro subscription to eligible users in the country. The Jeff Bezos-backed startup also continuously updates its AI search engine to …

Perplexity says its AI personal shopper ‘puts you first’

Perplexity is ramping up its AI shopping experience going into the holiday season, just like OpenAI and Google, with a free AI-powered shopping feature that is available now to US users. Its AI assistant looks similar to what we’ve seen from ChatGPT’s shopping research, as users type in what they’re looking for and refine the results with follow-up questions. The recommended products show up as cards with specs and reviews, and users can buy products directly through Perplexity from merchants that support PayPal. If you ask for a jacket to wear on your commute by ferry across the Bay to San Francisco, Perplexity says the chatbot will remember this past interaction to inform its recommendation when you later ask for boots. It’s available now on the desktop and web, with mobile access via iOS and Android due in “the coming weeks.” Perplexity says its “Instant Buy” partnership with PayPal allows merchants to stay in the retail loop and build relationships with customers, “just as they would on their own sites,” perhaps as a way to …

Amazon and Perplexity have kicked off the great AI web browser fight

Amazon and Perplexity have kicked off the great AI web browser fight

Amazon doesn’t want to be a part of Perplexity’s AI-powered shopping experience. In a post on Tuesday, the ecommerce giant says it has “repeatedly requested” that Perplexity stop allowing its Comet AI browser to buy products for customers, which Perplexity has responded to by accusing Amazon of “bullying.” Perplexity’s AI browser, Comet, currently offers an agentic AI feature that can find and purchase products from various websites — including Amazon — on your behalf. But now, Perplexity says it has received an “aggressive legal threat” from Amazon that demands that it stop allowing its AI assistant to shop for users — something the AI startup claims is at odds with Amazon’s values. “Amazon should love this. Easier shopping means more transactions and happier customers,” Perplexity writes. “But Amazon doesn’t care. They’re more interested in serving you ads, sponsored results, and influencing your purchasing decisions with upsells and confusing offers.” In the post, Perplexity also cites a quote from Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, who said during an earnings call last week that the company expects to …
