The protesters alleged that compensation and rehabilitation measures had not been extended to all eligible beneficiaries despite project works progressing on the ground. They submitted a representation to district officials seeking immediate intervention. According to the affected farmers, about 266 acres were acquired for the project, affecting 520 farmers. They alleged that compensation claims relating to 52 assigned-land holders remained unresolved and that discrepancies in survey and revenue records had resulted in several beneficiaries being left out of the compensation process. The farmers contended that the government had assured compensation and rehabilitation within 15 days of the foundation stone-laying ceremony, but the promise had not been fulfilled.
