IMD issues yellow alert for Delhi as temperatures likely to touch 46 degrees
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi for the next three days, warning of intense heatwave conditions as temperatures in the national capital are expected to rise sharply again. According to the weather department, maximum temperatures in Delhi are likely to remain between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius till May 27, following a brief spell of cloudy weather and relatively cooler conditions earlier this week. The IMD has advised residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours. Temperatures expected to rise further over next 24 hours The IMD said maximum temperatures in Delhi could rise by another 1 to 2 degrees Celsius within the next 24 hours before remaining consistently high over the following days. Minimum temperatures are also expected to increase by around 2 to 3 degrees Celsius before gradually easing towards the end of the month.
