Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday renewed his long-running attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s educational credentials, using the disruption of the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026 as fresh ammunition. The morning session was delayed by up to two hours at centres across multiple states. A year after it was flagged by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA )’s defunct Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) has finally started functioning. This followed the PCMC’s initiation of action to disconnect the building’s water supply due to the non-functional plant. A few weeks ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show, Clicks, the company best known for popularising QWERTY keyboards for iPhones, has unveiled its first Android smartphone, one that strongly resembles a classic BlackBerry. Called the Clicks Communicator, the device is aimed at “communication, not consumption” and is designed to work as a secondary phone, primarily for messaging. On the hardware front, the Clicks Communicator features a compact 4-inch OLED display, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot that supports storage expansion of up to 2TB. The phone runs Android 16 out of the box and comes with a dedicated side button dubbed the “Prompt key,” which can be used to convert voice to text, start voice recordings, or transcribe meetings. The physical keyboard also doubles up as a touch-sensitive keypad that lets you scroll through inbox, messages and web pages and also features a fingerprint sensor embedded in the space button. They were handed over to stakeholders on April 30. The foundation handed over the rejuvenated Gajapati lake, which is spread over seven-and-a-half acres, to the gram panchayat. The rejuvenation was supported by Jinabakul Forge Private Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme. It is the 14th lake and well revival project of the foundation, Pyaas Foundation president Madhav Prabhu said. The foundation has been working in various environment protection projects for nine years, he said. File | Photo Credit: PTI The debate on the need for introducing reservation in the appointment of judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts has been revived by the recent introduction of The Constitutional (Amendment) Bill 2024 by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Rajya Sabha MP P. Wilson. The Bill seeks to amend the Constitution to provide due representation for members of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, women, and religious minorities in the appointment of judges of Supreme Court and High Courts in proportion to their population and to bring timeline, transparency and allow State Government opinions in judicial appointments.
