Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that India can be a Hindu Rashtra by tomorrow morning if 142 crore citizens come together.
“The matter of Akhanda Bharat can only be told by an astrologer. A question was once asked how many fish it would take to cross from earth to the moon, the answer was one fish if it is long enough. If earnestly, 142 crore people of India start doing this, I think tomorrow morning we can be a Hindu Rashtra. But if we don’t, no one can tell. Definitely, it will happen, because we are at it. Till completion we will be at it,” said Bhagwat.
Bhagwat, while speaking at an event in Bengaluru titled ‘100 years of Sangh journey – New Horizons’, elaborated on the difficulties involved in uniting Hindus to create an all-Hindu nation. “Please try to do it, you will understand. What should I say about this ? We are at it. If you are at it, you also know. If you are not at it, then come and help us and you will know all the difficulties and how easy it is.”
On Dravidian ideology
“We don’t need to propagate Hindu rashtra. There is Hindu Rashtra and prachar in Tamil Nadu as well…There are parties that are Dravidian. Don’t they go to temple? Let aside worship, don’t they celebrate Pongal? They include everybody. For statements they say all religions are equal for us. All Hindus from the Arctic to Antarctic, west to east , all those who proclaim this, are all Hindus. They may know it or not know it.”

“It is political atmosphere created by adherence to specific political ideologies that prevent them from being Hindus. They know in their heart that they are Hindus. By nature, they are Hindus. They will not go anywhere,” he said.
On Pakistan
Speaking about Pakistan at the same event earlier, Bhagwat said he wished Pakistan became our “peaceful neighbours and one”. “We must be prepared for their repeated tries and give befitting answers, defeat them always, each time causing them some loss, so that they repent. One day, Pakistan will understand. We wish they understand this and become our peaceful neighbours and one so that they can also progress,” he said.
“We always have peace with Pakistan. It is Pakistan that does not have peace with us…As long as Pakistan gets some satisfaction out of causing harm to Bharat, it will keep doing it… We must give a befitting answer to their repeated tries,” the RSS chief said.
“The way to peace with Pakistan is not to breach it from our side. If Pakistan breaches it, it will not be successful. The more they try, the more they will cause trouble for themselves,” he said. “Pakistan must understand that it is better to cooperate with Bharat, rather than compete or fight. It is better to go closer or it will be harmed…But they don’t seem to understand this language. So we have to speak the language they understand and that language is ‘we cannot do anything about Bharat’.”
Bhagwat on Saturday said there is no “Ahindu” (non-Hindu) in India, asserting that every citizen, regardless of faith, descends from the same ancestors and shares a common cultural foundation rooted in Hindu civilisation.
