A 25-year-old hostess died after attending a weekend party at her friend’s rented apartment in DLF Phase-1 in Gurugram on Sunday, police said.

The deceased woman has been identified as Simran Dadwal, who had been employed with an Indian airline and living in Delhi. A resident of Mohali in Punjab, Dadwal came to see her friends on Saturday and allegedly developed breathing difficulties at the party, officials privy to the matter said, according to a report in Hindustan Times.

She was taken to a nearby private hospital by her friends but died during treatment.

“She was working with the airline for the past two years and was living in Delhi. She had come to Gurugram on Saturday to meet her friends. The deceased had troubled breathing at around 5am,” HT quoted a senior official at DLF Phase-I police station who requested anonymity.

Police said they were alerted by hospital staff about the matter. Soon after, a team was dispatched to the spot to take the body to the local mortuary for an autopsy.

Subsequently, the woman’s parents were informed and they arrived in Gurugram on Sunday, demanding a post-mortem to rule out any ulterior motive. Police said further action would be decided based on the autopsy report, which was awaited.
