IIM Indore opens admissions for executive program in Healthcare Management with 12-month live online classes

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has announced admissions for the fifth batch of its Executive Programme in Healthcare Management. The 12-month programme has been introduced for working professionals in the healthcare and allied sectors who want to improve their management and leadership skills while continuing in their roles. The two-year Master of Management Studies (MMS) programme offers 900 hours of learning for the participants. The course will be conducted through live online classes on an interactive Direct-to-Device learning platform, allowing participants to study from anywhere without taking a career break. Admissions for the current batch are now open. As per a official press statement, the programme has been designed to help healthcare professionals deepen their understanding of healthcare management alongside their technical and clinical knowledge. It focuses on preparing participants to manage hospitals, healthcare institutions and other healthcare organisations more effectively. Health Ministry proposes 12-month minimum shelf life for imported drugs

The Union Health Ministry has published a draft notification proposing amendments to the drugs rules under which imported drugs should have a minimum residual shelf life of 12 months at the time of import. The step would ensure that patients receive medicines with adequate usable shelf life and improve utilisation of pharmaceutical inventories across the supply chain. The draft amendment published for public consultation vide gazette notification on June 22 proposes to revise the existing requirement of a minimum residual shelf life of more than 60 per cent for imported drugs to a minimum residual shelf life of 12 months at the time of import. However, in view of their specialised nature and public health considerations, the existing requirement of a minimum residual shelf life of more than 60 per cent shall continue to apply to biological products and radiopharmaceuticals. The proposed amendment seeks to facilitate greater efficiency in the pharmaceutical supply chain while maintaining the availability of quality medicines for patients, the ministry said. New Delhi: India’s crude oil imports from its top supplier Russia fell for a second straight month in January to their lowest in a year as tighter Western sanctions hit supply of light sweet Sokol grade, preliminary ship tracking data showed. The world’s third-biggest oil importer and consumer boosted imports of Iraqi oil to offset the drop in Russian oil imports, according to the data. Imports from Russia declined 4.2% to 1.3 million barrels per day (bpd), according to LSEG data. Data from ship tracking agency Vortexa showed a slide of 9% to 1.2 million bpd. “The narrowing of Russian crude discounts versus Middle Eastern crude, recent U.S. sanctions on shipowners carrying Russian crude above the price cap and rising tanker premiums as a result of the Red Sea attacks have made Russian crude less attractive for Indian refiners in recent months,” said Serena Huang, Vortexa’s head of APAC analysis.
