Pranjali Prashant Dhumal wins 25m pistol gold, her third medal at Deaflympics 2025

India’s Pranjali Prashant Dhumal added another title to her standout campaign at the Deaflympics 2025 in Tokyo, winning the women’s 25m pistol gold on Monday. The victory marked her third medal of the Games, following gold in the mixed pistol event with Abhinav Deshwal and silver in the women’s 10m air pistol. She entered the final as the top qualifier after setting a new qualification world record and Deaflympics record with a score of 573 out of 600. Rhythm Sangwan pips Manu Bhaker to win 25m pistol National Trials

Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker was relegated to the second spot in the women’s 25m pistol selection trial 2 round on day five of the Rifle/Pistol National Selection Trials (Group A) on Wednesday at the at Dr Karni Singh Shooting range (DKSSR) in New Delhi. Returning to competitive shooting after the Paris Olympics, Bhaker was pipped by Rhythm Sangwan who emerged winner in the event via a shoot off from the final group which incidentally featured four other Olympians. In the finals, both Sangwan and Bhaker shot a score of 37, which warranted a shoot off, where the former scored 4/5 while the double Olympic medallist shot 3/5.
