Pinkvilla Predicts: Final forecast for The Raja Saab and Jan Neta, Border 2 tracking for 40cr plus opening

Pinkvilla Predicts: Final forecast for The Raja Saab and Jan Neta, Border 2 tracking for 40cr plus opening

Ikkis opened to Rs. 6 crore nett, which was above the forecasted range of Rs. 1.50-3.50 crore. The numbers were inflated by external help, but the organic figures were also higher than the high end, at probably around Rs. 4 crore nett. That represents a miss, though not an alarming one. The reason for the miss was likely the holiday boost being underestimated. There is no new entry in “Pinkvilla Predicts” this week. Today, we have the final forecast for The Raja Saab (Hindi) and Jan Neta (Hindi), along with an updated projection for Border 2. Other Updates The Raja Saab (Hindi) remains largely unchanged. There has been no development over the past week to warrant any significant revision in either direction. There are also no pre-sales yet, to give any indication on that front as well. The final forecast is lowered from Rs. 5-8 crore to Rs. 4-7 crore. Jan Neta (Hindi) got a trailer which suggested a regular South-style masala entertainer without any breakout potential. The forecast is lowered slightly from Rs. 1.50-3 crore …

Akhanda 2 Box Office Collections: NBK starrer opens well with 40cr worldwide first day

Telugu film Akhanda 2 collected Rs. 33 crore approx on its opening day in India. This includes Rs. 9 crore from previews on Thursday night. The film grossed another USD 850K (Rs. 7.50 crore) internationally, giving it a Rs. 40 crore worldwide opening day. The film was originally scheduled for release last week, but due to legal issues, it had to be postponed a week. The postponement might have taken some business away, though not much. On its face value, these are good numbers for the cast involved, ranking amongst the highest for the lead Nandamuri Balakrishna. They are better than his previous film, Daaku Maharaj, which collected Rs. 26 crore on its opening day earlier this year. However, this isn’t a standalone film but a sequel to a highly appreciated film. Accordingly, the costs involved are also higher than a regular NBK  film. Therefore, considering the brand value of the original film, the expectations were considerably higher, and the film hasn’t really delivered on those. Akhanda 2 performed well across the Telugu states. Nizam …

Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate recorded another superb day at the Indian box office yesterday, collecting Rs. 3.50 crore approx. The film experienced robust growth of around 35 per cent from Monday, benefiting from discounted ticket prices on Tuesday. This takes the total box office gross for the film over Rs. 40 crore. The film is moving fast towards Rs. 50 crore mark, which it shall reach in its sixth weekend.  The last week or so has seen the film on an abnormal trajectory. The business is still on elevated levels, but things are probably starting to stabilise now. The fifth week for the film is headed for Rs. 27 crore or so, which will take its total gross to Rs. 44 crore by Thursday. If there aren’t any more surprises, the film is going to target Rs. 70 crore plus closing. With better holds, even Rs. 80 crore remains a possibility. That will make Laalo the highest-grossing Gujarati film of all time by a wide margin. What this film will earn is more than what the …
