It is well known that she began her career as an actress, often starring alongside M.G. Ramachandran. February 24 marks the 77th birth anniversary of the late actress and leader. To commemorate the occasion, superstar Rajinikanth visited Jayalalithaa’s residence, Veda Nilayam, in Poes Garden, Chennai. In run-up to 77th Army Day, blood donation drive held at 21 military stations under Southern Command | Pune News

As part of various events being organised in the run-up to the 77th Army Day celebrations scheduled to take place in Pune on January 15, a blood donation drive was held across 21 military stations under the Pune-headquartered Southern Command. As many as 1,537 units of blood were collected during the drive. Organised under the theme of ‘Donate Blood – Save Lives’, the drive was conducted in close coordination with local civil hospitals and social organisations to ensure the donated blood units reach the needy patients in time. The blood donors consisted of a mix of Army personnel and their dependents, veterans, National Cadet Corps (NCC), civil defence employees, university students and teachers from Army public schools and other volunteers from all walks of life. Pune will play host to the Army Day parade on January 15 and various other events.
