The BJP-led Delhi government has reduced the annual MLA Local Area Development (LAD) Fund from ₹15 crore to ₹5 crore, officials have said. The Council of Ministers has directed that this will be an untied fund, said the order passed by Rekha Gupta-led Delhi Government(File/PTI) In October last year, the previous AAP government in Delhi enhanced the MLA LAD Fund from ₹10 crore to ₹15 crore, months ahead of the assembly polls. Asserting that no new “mountain of garbage” would be created in Delhi, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday said the Bhalswa landfill, spread across 70 acre, will be cleared by next March. Sirsa was speaking to mediapersons at an event where Lieutenant Governor (L-G) V K Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta planted bamboo saplings in 5 of the 25 acre that has been reclaimed at the landfill site. “I would like to thank L-G V K Saxena for his efforts in clearing Delhi of all three mountains of garbage at Bhalswa, Okhla, and Ghazipur.
