India monitors Middle East airspace, adjusts flight schedules for passenger safe

India is closely monitoring the evolving airspace situation in parts of the Middle East and its impact on international flight operations following the US-Israel attack against Iran. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Indian carriers have undertaken calibrated adjustments to their schedules, with long-haul and ultra-long-haul operations being progressively resumed through alternative routings that avoid restricted airspace. Aircraft and crew repositioning measures are underway to restore operational stability at the earliest. Special arrangements are being made to facilitate the movement of stranded passengers. Airlines are deploying additional capacity where required and coordinating closely with foreign aviation authorities and Indian missions abroad to ensure safe and orderly passenger movement. IndiGo has planned 10 special relief operations from Jeddah to India on March 3, to facilitate the return of stranded passengers, subject to required approvals and prevailing airspace conditions. IndiGo is coordinating with the Consulate General of India at Jeddah for passenger facilitation. SC upholds Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Act and adjusts higher education provisions

The Supreme Court of India has upheld the constitutional validity of the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madrasa Education Act of 2004, setting aside a previous ruling by the Allahabad High Court that had declared the Act unconstitutional. The verdict was delivered by a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra. While affirming the Act`s validity, the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional in the context of its regulation of higher education, specifically concerning degrees such as `Fazil` and `Kamil`. These degrees were found to be in conflict with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act. The Madarsa Act itself aims to regulate the standards of education within madrasas in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Supreme Court articulated that the right of minorities to administer educational institutions is not absolute and that the state has the authority to regulate educational standards within these institutions. Originally, NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Stephanie Wilson were also part of the Crew-9 team, but they are now eligible for reassignment to future missions.
