FIR blames negligence of drivers, probe to see if car was used as cab | Ahmedabad News
A day after 10 people were killed in an accident on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway near Nadiad after a Light Utility Vehicle (LUV) crashed into the rear of a stationary oil tanker, the Kheda police has begun a probe to ascertain if the vehicle had been used as a one-way pick-up cab or hired by a common agent as unrelated passengers were travelling to different locations. The driver of the oil tanker has been arrested for negligence and culpable homicide not amounting to murder, while the deceased driver of the LUV has also been booked under the same sections. Nadiad Rural Police Inspector Kirit Chaudhary told The Indian Express that the police is probing if the vehicle was regularly pressed into an inter-city shuttle service by the owner or was hired by a common person as the passengers were unrelated. “We are investigating the nature of the booking of this vehicle.
