Photo: X/@adgpi The Indian Army on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) unveiled a suite of indigenous Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions at the India AI Summit, underlining its ongoing transformation into a data-centric and AI-enabled force aligned with India’s vision of technological self-reliance and secure digital capability. The Army’s display at Bharat Mandapam highlighted dual-use platforms designed to serve both defence operations and civilian applications such as disaster management, cybersecurity and governance. The Indian Army said it showcased several key systems, including AI Examiner, an automated assessment and feedback platform aimed at modernising education and training frameworks. Another major highlight was SAM-UN, a geospatial and AI-enabled situational awareness system designed for mission planning, disaster response and integration with smart command centres. The Army presented EKAM (AI-as-a-Service), a secure, air-gapped indigenous AI cloud platform focused on ensuring data sovereignty and secure processing of sensitive information. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) apologised for the difficulties faced by attendees on the opening day of the India AI Impact Summit, even as Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the Modi Government for the “utter chaos and rank mismanagement”. Addressing a press conference at Bharat Mandapam, the summit venue, Mr. Vaishnaw said the turnout on Monday (February 16, 2026) was “phenomenal”, and assured participants that corrective steps had been taken to ensure a smoother experience in the coming days. More than 70,000 people attended the summit on the first day, he said. “This is the biggest AI summit in the entire world. The response is phenomenal. The energy is palpable.
