Modifications have been completed on around 80% of the 338 affected planes, an exercise that has caused delays and a few flight cancellations. According to the latest data from the aviation regulator DGCA, IndiGo and Air India did not cancel any flights, while Air India Express cancelled four flights due to the system modification process. Flight delays have been 60-90 minutes at various airports, sources said. Fly to Kolkata Now From Hindon, Air India Express Service Begins March 1

New Delhi: Hindon, which has become the second airport to function from the National Capital Region, will vault into the big league with the initiation of daily flights to and from Kolkata. Currently small airlines operate on short routes from Hindon. But Air India Express — a subsidiary of Air India and a part of the Tata Group – will be the first airline to operate out of Hindon airport with a jet engine airliner, a spokesperson of the company said. The Kolkata-Hindon flights will begin from March 1. The flight will operate daily, while the return flights will operate six days a week. There will be no flight on Saturdays. The flights will take off at 7.10 am from Kolkata and reach Hindon at 9.30 am. The return flights will leave Hindon  at 5.20 pm and reach the eastern metropolis at 7.40 pm. (Representational picture) Good news for air commuters as Air India Express launched daily direct flight services between Mangaluru  International Airport (MIA) and Delhi International Airport. The aviation move is set to enhance air connectivity for travellers in Karnataka.  The service aims to provide passengers with greater travel convenience and flexibility. According to a press release from the spokesperson of MIA, the inaugural flight, IX 1552, departed from Mangaluru at 6.40 am and landed in Delhi at 9.35am on February 1. Simultaneously, IX 2768, took off from Delhi at 6.40 am and arrived in Mangaluru at 9.35 am. Passengers welcomed with water cannon salute  Passengers on the first flight were welcomed with a water cannon salute, a gesture performed by the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit at Mangaluru International Airport.
