Israel launched airstrikes as its soldiers entered the village of Dibbine, near Marjayoun town. Five people were killed in the villages of Deir Qanoun al Nahr and Abbasiyeh, while a municipal policeman was killed in Ebba, AP reported citing state media. At the Pentagon, meanwhile, a six-member Lebanese military delegation met with Israeli military officials in the first direct military talks between the two countries in decades, the report highlighted. Sharing a statement later in the day, the Pentagon said the talks were “productive”. However, the US did not highlight any accomplishments or achievements.
