The film is based on the life of the iconic Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was assassinated in Mehsampur. According to a report by The Print, that traces the events following Chamkila’s assassination, one of the three killers of the singer is still alive. As per the report, filmmaker Kabir Singh Chowdhry, who had made a film on Chamkila called Mehsampur, now wants to make a film called Laal Pari. It would be about one of the three killers who murdered Chamkila and Amarjot. Kabir said, “It’s going to be about one of the three killers, who is still alive.
