The Congress Thursday lodged complaints with the EC against PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly making “false” and “divisive” speeches during the Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly polls. In the case of the PM, Congress alleged that he had made “false, malicious and slanderous statements” targeting the party and its allies during a speech in Nashik on November 8. The CPI(M) on Tuesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of making “communal” remarks in poll-bound Jharkhand and asked the Election Commission (EC) to take action against them for “violating the Model Code of Conduct”.
