Pahalgam attack spurs near-total shutdown after Kashmiri leaders’ call for bandh | India News
Schools, colleges and business establishments remained closed throughout several parts of Kashmir as the Valley Wednesday observed near-complete shutdown to protest the deadly militant attack that killed 26 people – including a local –in what is being seen as the biggest attack on civilians in recent years. This comes as Union Home Minister Amit Shah Wednesday arrived at the Police Control Room in Srinagar to pay tributes to the victims of the attack that targeted the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam. He is also visiting the Baisaran meadow, the site of the attack and is also expected to chair a review with senior security officials Wednesday.
