Heavy rainfall alert for Konkan as Vidarbha battles extreme heat

Maharashtra continued to witness contrasting weather conditions on Monday, with active monsoon conditions prevailing across Mumbai, Konkan and parts of western Maharashtra, while several districts in Vidarbha remained under the grip of severe heatwave conditions despite isolated rainfall activity. Maharashtra heatwave: Yellow alert issued for parts of Vidarbha

Parts of Maharashtra on Tuesday continued to witness heatwave conditions, with several districts recording temperatures above 46 degrees Celsius. The weather department on April 28 issued a yellow alert for parts of Maharashtra, predicting hot weather conditions. According to a weather bulletin, Amravati recorded the highest maximum temperature at 46.6 degrees Celsius. Heatwave conditions were also reported on Monday, April 27, in multiple districts those recorded high temperatures. It said that Akola  recorded 46.3 degrees Celsius, Amravati (46.6 degrees Celsius), Chandrapur (45.2 degrees Celsius), Nagpur (45.0 degrees Celsius), Wardha (46.5 degrees Celsius) and Yavatmal (45.2 degrees Celsius). As several districts continue to face severe heatwave conditions, Gondia reported the lowest minimum temperature at 25.2 degrees Celsius on Monday, the weather department said. Vidarbha weather Vidarbha region of Maharashtra continues to experience dry weather, with no rainfall recorded across districts.
