Amul, Mother Dairy hike milk prices by Rs 2 per litre
Amul and Mother Dairy has announced an increase of Rs 2 per litre in the prices of all its liquid milk variants, effective from May 14, 2026. According to the ANI, Mother Dairy said the revision has been made due to a steady rise in procurement costs paid to farmers over the past year. In an official statement, Mother Dairy said milk procurement prices have increased by around 6 per cent, making the price revision necessary. The dairy major said the hike is only a partial pass-through of rising costs and is intended to maintain a balance between farmer welfare and consumer affordability. A company spokesperson said a large share of milk sales revenue—around 75 to 80 per cent—is passed on to farmers to support their livelihoods.
