India Post is offering International Speed Post (EMS) and International Parcel services to enable customers to send Rakhis and gifts to relatives residing abroad, ahead of Raksha Bandhan on August 28. N.V.S.N. Raju, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Visakhapatnam Division, said the facility was available at all post offices across Visakhapatnam. He advised the public to book consignments early to ensure the timely delivery of Rakhis to overseas destinations. Mr. Raju also urged Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), small businesses, artisans, and self-help groups to make use of India Post’s Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (DNK) service to export their products to international destinations at affordable rates. AP-Genco prioritises 24×7 power supply for agri farmers

VIJAYAWADA Andhra Pradesh-Power Generation Corporation Limited (AP-Genco) Managing Director S. Nagalakshmi called upon officials, engineers, employees and staff of the power utilities to work collectively with dedication to further strengthen the State’s power sector and said providing daytime power supply to around 22.50 lakh agricultural consumers, ensuring uninterrupted supply to domestic, industrial and commercial consumers, was the government’s top priority. Peak power demand Participating as the chief guest in the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Vidyut Soudha in Vijayawada on Saturday, Ms. Nagalakshmi said as the power demand was rising rapidly, the government took various steps to augment generation capacity and sustain power supply in the years ahead, while pointing out that the State recorded a peak power demand of 15,016 MW earlier this year on May 21, along with peak daily energy consumption of 288.92 million units. SBI loan fraud case: man who escaped police custody in 2025 held in Hyderabad

Rajamahendravaram police has arrested a bank loan fraud case accused, who escaped police custody in 2025, in Hyderabad, CID Region Officer A. Farheen stated in a release. A local court on Friday sent the accused, Kavala Venkata Narasimham, to Rajamahendravaram Central Prison on judicial remand. The accused has been arrested in connection with the case registered in Kovvuru Town police station. The case pertains to the loan fraud to the tune of ₹6.7 crore in the three branches of the State Bank of India in Kovvur mandal in East Godavari district. Between 2018-20, Mr. Venkata Narasimham with the support of SBI employees various branches in Kovvur mandal, including SBI Kovvur Main Branch, Prakkilanka and Kovvur Bazaar branch, obtained various loans including MUDRA loans by producing fake documents of several people in the ₹6.7 crore loan fraud, stated Ms. Farheen. Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the tragedy and directed officials to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved families and ensure the safe return of the survivors to the State. The deceased from Andhra Pradesh were identified as Nallapeta Adiseshaiah Ravi Teja, Mudium Sreedhar of Kadapa and Gelli Jaya Lakshmi of Machilipatnam.
