According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system moved nearly northwards at around 5 kmph over the southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coastline, maintaining its intensity as it inched closer to the mainland. As of 11:30 pm on 29 November, the cyclonic storm was centred near latitude 10.7°N and longitude 80.6°E. It lay roughly 90 km east-northeast of Vedaranyam, 90 km east-southeast of Karaikal, 130 km north-northeast of Jaffna, 160 km south-southeast of Puducherry and about 260 km south of Chennai. IMD …

Rao Many places in Rayalaseema received light to moderate rainfall on Monday, with the highest of 32 mm being recorded at Balapanur in YSR Kadapa district. According to the realtime data provided by the A.P. State Development Planning Society (APSDPS) at 7 p.m. on Monday, Mylavaram and Sunkesula in YSR Kadapa district, Kalumala Doddi and Katikapalli in Chittoor district, Boyalakuntla in Nandyal district and other stations received rain between 10 mm and 30 mm during the day. The rains have brought down the mercury levels, as the maximum temperature recorded in the State on Monday was 41 degrees Celsius at Kanumukkala station in YSR Kadapa district. The India Meteorological Department (IMD)‘s forecast of light to moderate rain at isolated places continues for this week, until April 20. IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted heavy rainfall for Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and fog across multiple regions of India over the next week.
