Angad Cheema dominates final round to win title

Chandigarh golfer Angad Cheema dominated the final round with a six-under 66 to win the INR 2 crore Kapil Dev Grant Thornton Invitational 2025 played at the Prestige Golfshire Club in Bengaluru. Cheema’s (66-64-66) sublime final round effort helped him total 20-under 196 for the 54-hole event as he clinched his fourth professional title and third win on the PGTI main tour by a two-stroke margin. The victory saw 35-year-old Angad pick up a winning cheque worth INR 30 lakh that propelled him from 28th position to 10th place in the PGTI Order of Merit. Bengaluru’s Khalin Joshi (65-67-66) carded a last round of 66 to finish runner-up with a total of 18-under 198. Faridabad’s Abhinav Lohan (66-65-70) finished third at 15-under 201 following his third round of 70. Yuvraj Sandhu finished tied fourth at 12-under 204 and as a result moved up from third to first position in the PGTI Order of Merit. Angad Cheema surges ahead with flawless 64 on day 2

Angad Cheema of Chandigarh fired a flawless eight-under 64 to surge into a one-shot lead at a total of 14-under 130 in round two of the INR 2 crore Kapil Dev Grant Thornton Invitational 2025 being played at the Prestige Golfshire Club in Bengaluru. Angad (66-64), who was three shots off the lead in tied fourth place after the first round, gained three spots as a result of his outstanding second-round effort in the 54-hole event. Faridabad-based Abhinav Lohan (66-65) produced a 65 on day two to end the day in second place at 13-under 131. Abhinav’s excellent round moved him up two spots from his overnight tied fourth position. Khalin Joshi (65-67) carded a 67 to be a further stroke behind in third place. Greater Noida’s Saptak Talwar (70-63), a winner on the PGTI this year, produced 10 birdies and a bogey on Friday to match the course record of 63 set by Gaurav Pratap Singh in round one. Udayan Mane & Angad Cheema part of 5-way lead

The Indian duo of Udayan Mane and Angad Cheema posted scores of seven-under 65 to be part of the five-way lead on the opening day of the US$ 300,000 Delhi Challenge 2025, a HotelPlanner Tour & PGTI joint sanctioned event, being played at the Classic Golf & Country Club. Mane had a bogey-free round while Cheema’s round featured eight birdies and a bogey. The two Indians share the lead with Spaniard Quim Vidal, Swede Jasper Sandborg and Englishman Jamie Rutherford. Frenchmen Oihan Guillamoundeguy and Robin Sciot-Siegrist as well as American Davis Bryant were placed one shot off the lead in tied sixth position. Honey Baisoya struck a 67 to be the third Indian in the top-10 as he occupied tied ninth position. Welshman James Ashfield made a hole-in-one on the 11th during his round of 70.
