Representatives of corporate houses highlighted their innovations for helping out the community hubs for maternal and child health services. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, who holds the women and child development portfolio, said the CSR funds could play a crucial role in modernisation of Angawandi centres. These centres could be constructed in a few weeks by utilising modern technology for prefabricated structures and containers, she said. “Tech-driven solutions can facilitate the desired transformation of the infrastructure of dilapidated Anganwadi centres in a short span of time, enabling them to provide grassroots-level services,” Ms. Kumari said. One of the injured girls has been identified as Lasya Likhitha. Another girl has also suffered severe injuries. The two girls were admitted to Bangarapete government hospital for treatment. According to the police, there were six children at the centre when the incident occurred. The ceiling of the centre was old and was in a dilapidated condition. S.S. Narayanaswamy, MLA, visited the hospital and later the spot to inspect the centre. He ordered officials to conduct an audit of all anganwadis in the taluk and take immediate restoration work to prevent further damage. Three boys, aged six to seven years, were among those booked on Friday for raping a third-year-old girl in the Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, police said. According to news agency PTI, the crime took place in a village at the Kalwari Police Station jurisdiction in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The police said that the first information report (FIR) was filed after the girl`s mother approached the police.
