Harmanpreet Kaur still the best person to lead India, says Anjum Chopra | Cricket News

Former India player Anjum Chopra believes Harmanpreet Kaur remains the “best person” to lead the women’s national team even as debates around captaincy resurface ahead of a busy international season and the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL). With the Indian women’s team returning to action in a T20 series against Sri Lanka after their World Cup triumph, Chopra feels the focus should be firmly on sustaining momentum rather than speculating about leadership changes. “My personal view over the past so many years has been that Harmanpreet Kaur is a match winner. I don’t think I need to say anything further,” Chopra told PTI Videos. “She’s the best person to lead this Indian team.” Chopra dismissed recent suggestion from former India captain Shantha Rangaswamy to change the captain, stressing that such views are personal. “Everybody has their right to share what they feel… There’s nothing right or wrong. It’s just the timing of it,” she said. “I still feel that she’s the correct person and the apt person to lead India.” Looking ahead to the Sri …

“It’s Not Setting The Start” Anjum Chopra Highlights Rohit Sharma’s Woes in IPL 2025

Former India cricketer Anjum Chopra has spoken about the poor form of Rohit Sharma in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. She said that his struggle to get going is not helping Mumbai Indians as they are not getting the starts they are looking for. The opening batter has looked far away from his best which is one of the reasons why the franchise is having a tough time in the ongoing season. Rohit Sharma who recently led India to triumph in the Champions Trophy 2025 had a great touch with the bat, and was expected to play a vital role for Mumbai Indians. With him being retired from T20Is, it was certain that he would set the stage on fire in the 18th edition of the league. Rohit has returned with scores of 0, 8, 13, 17 and 18 in the five games that he has played. The 37-year-old has continued to bat in the same attacking mindset which hasn’t paid off till now. He has faced a lot of criticism and there have been …

Anjum Rajabali on his 11-year journey of bringing copyright society to life

Anjum Rajabali on his 11-year journey of bringing copyright society to life

Intellectual property, which is basically creative work, has to be seen differently than any other form of property which is owned. Because what intellectual property does is that it adds a certain enrichment to society – be it painting, music, literature, cinema. This is why every society has worked out a way of incentivizing, encouraging, and protecting the work of creative people. Now, one way of doing it is to ensure that their copyright is not violated, because this is something which has been created as an original by them. Any creation comes from deep within the artist. It is that when that work is exploited for further commerce, then they should be receiving their due share of that. If you buy a painting, say by Tyeb Mehta, for 1 lakh rupees and 10 years later, maybe the price goes to 1 crore so you actually sell it further. Now, from that one crore that you`re making, a royalty has to be ploughed back to Mehta or his heirs, which is, actually, the law. Because …

“Not Just To Participate…”: Former India Captain Anjum Chopra Gives Brutal ‘Underprepared’ Verdict On Harmanpreet Kaur-Led Side

Before the Indian team’s departure to the UAE for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur claimed that the 15-member side was the best group ever playing the showpiece event in the shortest format. But all of it came crashing down when India lost to 58 runs by New Zealand in their tournament opener at Dubai and from there, they were just playing catch up till the writing on the wall came clear: of them suffering a group-stage exit in the T20 World Cups for the first time since 2016. Former India captain Anjum Chopra said the side hasn’t really found success in playing the shortest format, whether individually or as a whole unit, leading to their early exit from the T20 World Cup. “I do feel that Indian team is a work in progress in terms of playing T20 cricket. They still haven’t been able to crack that code individually and collectively as to how to play T20 cricket.” “Certain players, starting with Harmanpreet Kaur, because she plays in the …
