The USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy has been handed an eight-year ban from all forms of cricket for breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code, including attempting to fix matches in Abu Dhabi T10 2025. The ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal imposed the fine on the player after finding him guilty of breaching three counts of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. ‘The charges relate to the Abu Dhabi T10 2025 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for which the ICC was appointed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO),’ said the ICC statement. “The ban is backdated to 21 November 2025, when Reddy was provisionally suspended. Two forest department officials have been arrested in Maharashtra`s Thane district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000.  As reported by news agency PTI, the forest officials were allegedly demanding the sum to issue an NOC for a petrol pump, the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) said on Thursday. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) also highlighted that the accused have been identified as forester Vilas Shivaji Sanap and forest guard Rekha Gaikwad, both stationed at the forest department office in Kunda, Mamnoli, under Kalyan taluka, as per PTI.  Forest officials demanded bribe to issue NOC for a petrol pump According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB) Anil Jaykar, the complainant had received a sanction to open a new petrol pump and required a mandatory no-objection certificate (NOC) from the forest department. Thiruvananthapuram, The VACB has registered 818 corruption-related cases in the state over the past five years, officials said on Saturday. VACB steps up anti-corruption drive in Kerala, registers 818 cases in five years In a statement, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau said it has recorded significant achievements in its anti-corruption drive during the period by strengthening surveillance, adopting advanced technology and enhancing public participation. Of the 818 cases registered, 232 were trap cases in which officials were caught red-handed while accepting bribes – the highest ever in the bureau’s history, the statement said. “In 2025 alone, 57 trap cases were registered, marking the highest annual figure. In one of the biggest seizures, a panchayat overseer was caught while accepting a bribe of ₹15 lakh,” the statement said. The VACB said that, in addition, 421 vigilance investigations, 1,847 preliminary enquiries and 547 secret verifications were conducted over the last five years.
