Indian Navy to commission second Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare craft Malvan on July 22

The Indian Navy is set to commission Malvan, the second vessel of the Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) series, on July 22, 2026, an official statement said on Thursday. The commissioning ceremony will be attended by Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, who will preside over the event. Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command, will also be present along with senior naval officials, representatives from Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), veterans and other distinguished guests.
