The Love Archive: When Ranbir Kapoor Said He’s Never Been in a One-sided Relationship

The Love Archive: When Ranbir Kapoor Said He’s Never Been in a One-sided Relationship

Ranbir Kapoor’s filmography explores stories of the heart in many ways. As an artiste, Ranbir has embodied multiple characters that bring layers of tenderness, vulnerability, longing, heartbreak, and love to life. Casual, transformative, calm, or tragic, he has portrayed all forms of love that still resonate deep with the audience.     And perhaps that is why Ranbir finds love and art to be deeply intertwined.     Talking candidly to Filmfare, Ranbir once drew a stunning analogy between an artiste and a lover. For him, emotional honesty occupies a profound space in a relationship. Love isn’t just about accepting your partner’s perceptions; it is also about revealing different ways of seeing and feeling.     Emphasizing this thought, Ranbir says, “The role of an artiste is exactly like the lover. If I love you, I have to make you conscious of all the things that I want you to see, and you can’t see. And if I can do that through my characters, through my films, through these different subjects that I’m trying to do, of course I’ll fail, you know, I’ll go wrong because I don’t have a formula for it. But I am going to show you something that you didn’t know you wanted to see. If I know that this is what you want to see and I keep doing that, I will falter. It’s something that I don’t think I will be …

Days after Nehru Archive goes online, Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library launches digital archives | India News

Just a week after the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund (JNMF) made a huge selection of archival documents pertaining to the first prime minister accessible to the public, the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML), also situated on the Teen Murti campus, has enabled access to its archival resources, which also include papers pertaining to Nehru. Last week, the JNMF, a non-profit trust headed by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, launched the Nehru Archive to mark the first prime minister’s 136th birth anniversary this year. In the first phase, the Selected Works of Jawaharlal Nehru have been made available online, with an entire set of 100 volumes containing 35,000 documents available for free download. On Sunday, the Ministry of Culture, under whose aegis the PMML operates as an autonomous institution, announced taking “a major step forward in expanding access to its vast archival resources”. The PMML houses one of the world’s largest collections of rare archival materials, comprising over 25 million documents belonging to more than 1,300 individuals and organisations. These records are regularly consulted by researchers …

HT Archive: Gritty Ali takes out fearsome Foreman, reclaims world title

By 1974, Muhammad Ali’s career had taken several dramatic turns. He was stripped of his heavyweight title in 1967 for protesting the Vietnam draft and barred from boxing. On his return, Ali lost to Joe Frazier in 1971, his first professional defeat. But in a twist, George Foreman ended Frazier’s reign as champion two years later. Ali got a shot at the title but Foreman was seen as the odds-on favourite . Their clash in Zaire, hosted by the regime of Mobutu Sese Seko, came to be known as The Rumble In The Jungle and was one of the most watched events in TV history. Now you can watch the Internet Archive preserve documents in real time

Now you can watch the Internet Archive preserve documents in real time

If you’ve ever wondered how the Internet Archive uploads all the physical documents on its site, now you can get a behind-the-scenes look at the process. The Internet Archive launched a new YouTube livestream that shows the digitization of microfiche in real time — complete with some relaxing, lo-fi beats. Microfiche is a sheet of film that contains multiple images of miniaturized documents. It’s an old form of storing newspapers, court documents, government records, and other important documents. The Internet Archive uses these microfiche cards to digitize and upload documents to its online library. “Operators feed microfiche cards beneath a high-resolution camera, which captures multiple detailed images of each sheet,” Chris Freeland, the Internet Archive’s director of library services, writes in a post on the site. “Software stitches these images together, after which other team members use automated tools to identify and crop up to 100 individual pages per card.” From there, the Internet Archive processes the pages, makes them text-searchable, and then uploads them to its public collections. The livestream runs from Monday through …

From the Archive: The republic must affirm its resolve for world peace | Latest News India

Nov 29, 2024 02:16 PM IST The only way we can ensure world peace and rid ourselves of the dread of war is to bring into existence a world government which will reduce war to the level of rebellion or civil crime. The inauguration of the Republic is an occasion when the people of India should reaffirm their resolve to be a force for world peace. Before we end the war, we should deal with the latest, most monstrous weapon that the physicists have added to the armoury of powerful nations. The physicists have raised the destroying angel out of nature’s atom and now there is a fairly feverish race in preparations for this method of destruction! Along with the atomic race, there is a propaganda going on to persuade the peoples of the world that this new and deadly weapon is a friend of peace in that its terrible character will deter wicked nations from challenging one another and hold them back from plunging into war. There is also the tempting talk of constructive …

JANAL Digital Archive In line with modern trends and to extend its reach beyond the physical confines of the institution, the ‘JANAL’ digital archive on the Kerala Museum website was launched in 2023. “The aim was to create innovative, engaging, and experiential digital exhibitions by drawing on historical archives and microhistories of people and communities across Kerala,” said Aditi Zacharias, director of the museum. The Internet Archive hackers still have access to its internal emailing tools

The Internet Archive hackers still have access to its internal emailing tools

It’s dispiriting to see that even after being made aware of the breach 2 weeks ago, IA has still not done the due diligence of rotating many of the API keys that were exposed in their gitlab secrets. As demonstrated by this message, this includes a Zendesk token with perms to access 800K+ support tickets sent to [email protected] since 2018. Whether you were trying to ask a general question, or requesting the removal of your site from the Wayback Machine—your data is now in the hands of some random guy. If not me, it’d be someone else. Here’s hoping that they’ll get their shit together now. Disclaimer: We do not own any of the content, ideas, images, or text presented here. All rights belong to their respective owners. The Internet Archive is back as a read-only service after cyberattacks

The Internet Archive is back as a read-only service after cyberattacks

The Internet Archive is back online in a read-only state after a cyberattack brought down the digital library and Wayback Machine last week. A data breach and DDoS attack kicked the site offline on October 9th, with a user authentication database containing 31 million unique records also stolen in recent weeks. The Internet Archive is now back online in a “provisional, read-only manner,” according to founder Brewster Kahle. “Safe to resume but might need further maintenance, in which case it will be suspended again.” While you can access the Wayback Machine to search 916 billion web pages that have been archived over time, you can’t currently capture an existing web page into the archive. Kahle and team have gradually been restoring Archive.org services in recent days, including bringing back the team’s email accounts and its crawlers for National Libraries. Services have been offline so that Internet Archive staff can examine and strengthen them against future attacks. A pop-up from a purported hacker claimed the archive had suffered a “catastrophic security breach” last week, before Have …

The Internet Archive is still down but will return in ‘days, not weeks’

The Internet Archive is still down but will return in ‘days, not weeks’

The Internet Archive will come back within “days” following a cyberattack that brought down the organization’s vast digital library and the Wayback Machine, according to an update from founder Brewster Kahle. It’s been struggling due to a data breach and DDoS attack earlier this week that revealed the email addresses, screen names, password change timestamps, and other information associated with more than 31 million unique email addresses. Currently, if you try to access the Internet Archive’s website, you’ll see a notice that says it’s “temporarily” offline. Links to the Wayback Machine also won’t load. “The data is safe. Services are offline as we examine and strengthen them. Sorry, but needed. @internetarchive staff is working hard. Estimated Timeline: days, not weeks,” writes Kahle. After a pop-up from a purported hacker claimed the archive had suffered a “catastrophic security breach” earlier this week, Have I Been Pwned founder Troy Hunt confirmed he’d received a file with the stolen data, so anyone registered on his site can get an alert if it includes their information.
