‘Pakistan shouldn’t boycott but play India with black arm band’: Basit Ali’s suggestion | Cricket News

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has opposed any boycott of a potential India-Pakistan match, urging Pakistan to play the game while wearing black armbands as a form of protest. “Pakistan should not boycott, but wear black arm band and play India game,” Basit said on his YouTube channel BasitAliShow. He said that cricket is not a “gentleman’s game” and had become increasingly political. He also questioned why any boycott would wait until a senior World Cup clash, saying, “Why wait for Feb 15 India vs Pakistan game at the T20 World Cup? If you have to boycott, do it on Feb 1st Pakistan vs India U-19 World Cup game.” Basit said his Indian friends had also suggested that Pakistan should “fire your first punch at the U-19 World Cup” rather than at the men’s event. He warned that previous decisions, including removing Bangladesh from a World Cup, had already damaged the sport, saying the side effects were “being felt now and will linger long.” Citing Australia’s past World Cup forfeit against Sri Lanka, Basit said …

‘Twisted my arm, no help from Uber or Delhi Police’: Woman alleges assault by cab driver, raises safety concerns | Trending News

A Delhi woman reported a frightening experience she had during a regular Uber trip to a doctor’s clinic. Bharati Chaturvedi took to X and alleged physical assault by her cab driver after she asked him to drive straight for a U-turn. She further alleged that neither Uber’s safety team nor the Delhi Police responded when she sought immediate help, and a response came only after her posts on social media went viral. Sharing her experience, Chaturvedi wrote, “Today, for the first time in my life, I was assaulted.” Chaturvedi said that on Wednesday afternoon, she had booked an Uber from her Vasant Vihar residence to a doctor in Sarvodaya Enclave, South Delhi. She shared that she was struggling with severe pollution at the time. “Pollution was brutal, my asthma was flaring, and I could barely breathe or see from the itching eyes and burning scalp,” she wrote. Chaturvedi alleges the driver stopped far from the designated drop-off point. When she asked him to continue properly, the driver moved only a short distance before stopping again, …

Valve thinks Arm has ‘potential’ for SteamOS handhelds, laptops, and more

Valve thinks Arm has ‘potential’ for SteamOS handhelds, laptops, and more

Valve software engineer Pierre-Loup Griffais makes it sound like the sky’s the limit. I don’t want to oversell what he said — he was excited about the potential, not any specific devices, and you’ll see that in more context when we publish the interview later this week. But when I ask whether he thinks there’ll be other SteamOS devices with Arm chips, he says the answer is yes, and that he’s excited about it. “I think that it paves the way for a bunch of different, maybe ultraportables, maybe more powerful laptops being Arm-based,” he begins. “Handhelds, there’s a lot of potential for Arm, of course, and one might see desktop chips as well at some point in the Arm world.” I immediately think about how Nvidia reportedly has an Arm-powered gaming laptop coming, and how Razer showed up at Qualcomm’s last coming-out party for laptop chips. “We’ll keep greasing the wheels, so to speak, so that SteamOS can work on a wider variety of Arm devices, but also so that the catalog becomes more …

Harpreet Brar, 6’2″ applies the slow left arm hand brakes on a rampaging Rajasthan after Nehal Wadhera, Shashank Singh shore up Punjab total | Ipl News

Heroics of Jaiswal go in vain; wiles of Brar and sizzle of Shashank-Wadhera triumph The match flowed to familiar tunes for both Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. The latter fought back from various difficult junctures, while the former squandered spectacular positions spectacularly. The result—a 10-run scrape—took the Kings closer to the knockout dreamland. Wiles of Brar First impressions of Harpreet Brar, the slow left arm tweaker, are misleading. A standard run-up, a simple action and straightforward variations. He breaks the ball away from the right hander; he slides the ball into them. There is nothing terrifying. But watch him closer, and the subtlety of his craft emerges. He modulates his pace supremely, varies his length by fractional margins but enough to confuse batsmen, mixes his angles and release points, and has a knack of bowling the right ball at the right time. Story continues below this ad He was an exception on Sunday. He was not just the most prolific wicket-taker but also the most economical one. His four overs, on an afternoon both teams …
