The latest to react is singer-composer Amaal Malik, who said that while he understands the larger point Rahman was trying to make, he does not agree with the communal angle attached to it. In a conversation with Faridoon Shahryar, Amaal explained, “From an industry perspective, what he has said is largely correct. However, I do not agree with the communal aspect of it. Forget nepotism and groupism — today, every label is comfortable working with its own set of artistes. They promote those artistes because they bring revenue. In today’s time, labels have become the real decision-makers.” Elaborating further, Amaal added, “This is the era of management and agencies. There is groupism, both in good and bad ways. You can see how Mani Ratnam sir works almost exclusively with Rahman sir, or how Anurag Basu mostly collaborates with …

Shah Rukh Khan apologises to junior artistes himself if he has to extend the shoot by half an hour, says Zeeshan Ayyub | Bollywood News

Many actors have sung praises of Shah Rukh Khan’s hospitality — from the way he treats guests to how he makes them feel special, often personally walking them to their cars after visiting him at his Mumbai bungalow, Mannat. While actor Zeeshan Ayyub agrees with this sentiment, he believes Shah Rukh’s humility goes far beyond graciously treating actors and directors. According to him, it is most evident in how the superstar treats the working-class sections on his film sets and wherever he goes. Zeeshan, who has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees and Zero, spoke about observing the actor’s behaviour toward doormen, junior artists and crew members, and how he consistently treats them with utmost respect. Speaking to Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Zeeshan shared, “Many stars come to drop you at the gate but in my mind, I see how a star or any other person treats working-class people – those who are doing more physical work, who is doing more labour for less money. This is how I judge a human …

She traced it back to the advent of streaming giants Netflix and Amazon Prime Video back in 2017. “Big players came and started playing the valuation game and not the money game,” she wrote, adding, “Everyone overestimated the volume game in India, went for impressions over revenue and made 200 rupees entry price for whole families for all the movies, shows.” Arati Kadav underlined the example of HBO’s popular fantasy epic Game of Thrones, made on a budget of $600 million, but which was accessible to Indian viewers on JioHotstar for just a meagre subscription fee …
