India added three more medals on the third day of the inaugural Asian U23 Athletics Championships in Ordos, China, with distance runner Shivaji Parashuram winning his second silver medal of the competition on Saturday. Shivaji finished second in the men’s 10,000m with a personal best time of 29:33.54, taking India’s overall medal tally to 11. It was his second podium finish after claiming silver in the men’s 5,000m on the opening day. Indian pistol shooter Gaurav Kumar Masoori bound for the 2026 Asian Games has tested positive for banned substance propranolol and its metabolite 4-hydroxy-propranolol on Wednesday. The Bagpat shooter was selected to be part of the Indian contingent for the 2026 Asian Games and the upcoming ISSF World Cup in Hangzhou, China. According to a report in The Tribune, Masoori has been issued an adverse analytical finding (AAF) notification by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) after his sample tested positive for propranolol and its metabolite 4-hydroxy-propranolol. Propranolol is a beta blocker that lowers heart rate and is prohibited in precision sports like shooting as it can give athletes a competitive edge. As per the NADA notification, Masoori has not been provisionally suspended and is eligible to compete. Masoori’s sample was collected during the Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship, held in New Delhi from April 28 to May 15. India will tour Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series in Harare on July 23, 25 and 27. The tour begins just four days after the conclusion of the England series on July 19. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member Indian women’s cricket squad for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on Tuesday. The multi-sporting event will follow the T20 format, with eight teams taking part in the event. Hosts, Japan, will be joined by India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and China.
