Highest-grossing actor’s films have earned Rs 139k crore; has surpassed Tom Cruise, Scarlett Johansson | Hollywood News

While box office reports and collections don’t define an actor, they are still metrics which are commonly used to measure their success. Names like Samuel L Jackson, Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise and Dwayne Johnson have often been associated with being the highest-grossing actors, but according to recent reports, none of them have clenched the crown. It is actually Zoe Saldana, who has now become the highest-grossing actor of all time, and according to industry tracker The Numbers, her movies have amassed over $15.47 billion (Rs 139k crore) at the box office. This statistic seems less surprising once you take a gander at Zoe’s filmography. She once escaped the politically unstable Dominican Republic with her family, and has since worked in franchises like Avatar, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek, and The Avengers, with some other box office hits sprinkled along the way. Zoe has starred in the top three highest-grossing films of all time, which are James Cameron’s Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water, at the number 1 and 3 spots, and also …

Explained: Why Marvel is going back to the ‘love you 3000’ way with a thread of fatherhood running through Avengers Doomsday | Hollywood News

Marvel hasn’t peaked since the climax of its 2019 blockbuster, Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Endgame, when Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark aka Iron Man sacrifices his life to save the world from Josh Brolin’s unstoppable antagonist Thanos. It was also an emotional conclusion to an 11-year arc which started with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man in 2008. Fans of Downey and Stark poured in heartwarming messages, signing them off with “Love you 3000,” the popular line that Stark says to his daughter Morgan before bidding her goodbye. If the fact that the beloved superhero died for the greater good wasn’t emotionally stirring enough, he also had to be a father. Because fatherhood strikes the chords that saviour/superhero complex can’t. It’s no surprise then that in order to recreate the same magic after seven years, Marvel roped back in not only Downey and Russo Brothers, but also the motif of fatherhood. Morgan and Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame. First seed of fatherhood in The Fantastic Four The first seed was sown with Matt Shakman’s The Fantastic Four: The …

Linking a major Marvel blockbuster with another franchise isn’t a new concept. Marvel …

Scarlett Johansson was shocked when Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame was not nominated for Best Picture: ‘It was an impossible movie…’ | Hollywood News

Avengers: Endgame is hailed by many as the biggest superhero movie of all time. Marvel completely hit it out of the park, be it with box-office collection, the overall expanse of the narrative, or the star-studded cast, which, to everyone’s surprise, worked seamlessly on screen. Actor Scarlett Johansson pointed out this very fact in a recent interview and revealed that she was shocked when she heard that Avengers: Endgame has not been nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.
