New Delhi, As on February 28, a total of 11.69 crore hospital admissions across the country, amounting to ₹1.73 lakh crore, have been authorised under the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana , Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav told the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Hospital treatments worth ₹1.73 lakh crore sanctioned under Ayushman Bharat, Rajya Sabha told Out of these, 4.40 crore hospital admissions amounting to ₹68,302.23 crore were authorised during the last two financial years FY 2023-24 and FY 2024-25. The significant utilisation of the scheme indicates that eligible beneficiaries are availing the benefit to access healthcare services, thereby reducing their out-of-pocket expenditure, Jadhav said in a written reply. The AB-PMJAY provides health coverage of ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation to 12 crore families constituting the bottom 40 per cent of India’s population. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, distributed the first Vay Vandana cards to beneficiaries during a special event in the capital. Ayushman Bharat scheme: The MoU signing ceremony will be attended by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Health Minister JP Nadda. Ayushman Bharat Yojana: The Delhi Government is all set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Health Authority of India (NHA) in order to implement the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the national capital.  NHA is the nodal agency responsible for the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme across the country. This MoU will make Delhi the 35th state or Union Territory to adopt the scheme. The Delhi government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme will prioritise the “poorest of the poor,” with one lakh people enrolled by April 10, aiming to improve the city’s healthcare infrastructure, Health Minister Pankaj Singh said. Delhi’s healthcare infrastructure will improve with this initiative, said Delhi Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh.(PTI) Under this scheme, priority will be given to Delhi’s poorest families, including those under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and priority households, Singh told PTI on Thursday. “The Ayushman Bharat scheme must be implemented swiftly after the MoU is signed. Efforts will be made at the ground level to ensure that the most vulnerable sections of society benefit,” he said.
