Delhi HC examines legal protection for the family’s reputation
The Delhi High Court has raised an important question while hearing Aaradhya Bachchan’s case against allegedly false and misleading content about her health and private life. The court questioned whether the reputation attached to the Bachchan family name can legally be treated as something that “flows down generationally.” Aaradhya Bachchan’s case sees a new turn As reported by Hindustan Times, the case dates back to 2023, when Aaradhya, daughter of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, approached the Delhi High Court over YouTube videos making false claims about her health. Some of the videos allegedly claimed that she was seriously ill, hospitalised and, in one instance, even falsely suggested that she had died. The petition also sought protection against the misuse of private information and the Bachchan family’s reputation.
