A special investigation team (SIT) of the Chamoli police found that Pramod Nautiyal, the accused arrested in the alleged Badrinath temple donation theft case, was seen stealing cash on at least four occasions in the CCTV footage examined so far, police said on Wednesday. Devotees can now sign up for the annual pilgrimage to the Himalayan temples. The government has introduced compulsory online registration through several digital platforms to ensure better management of the large number of pilgrims who visit the shrines each year. Char Dham Yatra Registration Opens From Today The registration process began at 7 AM and is mandatory for all pilgrims planning to visit the shrines. The pilgrimage will start on April 19 with the opening of the portals of Yamunotri and Gangotri temples. Amid vedic chants, the doors of the temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu were opened at 6 a.m. Fifteen tons of flowers of various varieties adorned the temple and an Indian Army played devotional music on the occasion. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president Mahendra Bhatt and Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyay were also present on the occasion. A special worship was first performed in the temple by the chief priest of Badrinath Dham, Rawal, Dharmadhikari and Vedpathis.
